It’s easy to start, easy to give up, persistence is often the hardest thing

開始很簡單放棄很容易,堅持往往最難得

We Organic officially turned 3 years old in the summer of 2019!

Three years, from a business perspective, is a watershed in whether a new company can survive and the beginning of the next milestone.

When I started my business in Paris in 2016, I didn’t know whether this crazy idea would succeed, so I told myself, just give me 3 years!

If you can't do it, treat it like a dream, at least you tried hard.

Alice, the founder of Only Machine, started her business in Paris in 2016. I didn’t know whether this crazy idea would succeed, so I told myself to give myself 3 years!

But if it can last for three years, it means that this is not just a wishful dream.

However, the tests and challenges I have faced in these three years are simply beyond my imagination.

From the very beginning of setting up the company in Paris and negotiating with French manufacturers at the negotiating table, it was a great hardship for me, a layman.

Alice, the founder of Weiji Machinery, shared that if the business can survive for three years, it means that it is not just a wishful dream.

At the same time, the company's operation management and sales problems came one after another. Every day, it was caught between France and Taiwan. Crisis management, strategic planning and execution on both sides had to face the arrival of a new baby and the adjustment of family reorganization.

Just last year, I was so broken, exhausted both physically and mentally, that I really wanted to give up.

With the growth of performance, the number of personnel has increased, and the company is no longer a studio organization. It cannot rely on passion and ideals. It can only be supported by staying up late to work and working hard with emotions.

The company needs systems, management policies, promotion channels, a more professional marketing team, and more accurate warehouse management and shipping system processes.

I was at a loss as to how to walk the road ahead and how to overcome each test.

I remember one night when I was on a business trip in Paris with an old employee. After a few glasses of red wine,

I sighed and said to her: It’s so hard to be a boss. I really don’t know how to be a good boss. I really want to give up. Everything is different from what I originally thought. I’m really tired.

She hugged me and said: I know you have worked hard, but please, please don't give up on us, okay?

I was speechless for a long time, and there was a tug-of-war between reason and sensibility.

From that night on, the whole situation forced me to think, what makes a good leader?

At the same time, he was thinking about the life and death of this company.

There is no absolute answer to this question. Every company has different leaders. The leader’s sentiments, personality and behavior style also determine the company’s culture.

From that night on, the whole situation forced Alice, the founder of Only Machine, to start thinking about what makes a good leader?

This is my answer. As a leader, the most basic thing is a sense of responsibility.

From a practical perspective, we have the responsibility and obligation to create a stable and sustainable working environment to support each employee and his family.

We have the responsibility to give them space to display their expertise in the workplace and to clarify the channels for promotion.

From a perceptual perspective, it can stimulate the enthusiasm, imagination and team spirit of colleagues, and help them find their ideals and sense of mission at work.

Of course, leaders never give up easily.

After making up my mind to move forward, I started looking for professional managers in the industry in Taiwan.

Invested in the research and development and production of self-created products in France, and applied for certification review with the European organic organization Ecocoert.

From now on, Oui Organic will no longer just adopt other people's children, but will focus more on creating its own children, Oui Organic, and rely on its professional marketing team to support their sustainable growth.

This process is a new exploration, like I started a business again.

But this time, I am much stronger and feel more grounded and steady.

Along the way, I have never been alone. I am very grateful to the guests who have supported Weiji in the past three years, every colleague who has worked hard together, and my family who have never left me. I am even more grateful to God.

It's easy to start, easy to give up, but persistence is often the hardest thing.
