The company I worked for at the time was PcHome Online.

Mr. Zhan Hongzhi had not yet started operating in the e-commerce market. His first step on the Internet was to build a huge database and build Taiwan's first search engine website (todo.com).

I worked part-time there until I graduated. Later I was poached to work at Zhongshi Electronic News, and then to an Internet technology company.

That was the era when the Internet industry was emerging, and it had not yet faced the first wave of bubbles. The e-commerce model that supported this industry was completely undeveloped at that time.

In the early days, I worked at PChome and China Times Electronic News to build data, databases, and website content output, which was a bit like an editor. It was not until I joined a professional Internet company that I began to be responsible for designing the structure and organization of the website. Regarding content generation, I still remember that the customers we served at that time included Motorola, Juheng.com, and Uni-President Enterprise.

The invention of the Internet ushered in a new era in the history of human civilization. Although there were very few people familiar with the Internet profession at that time and the industry was extremely immature, those who invested in the industry at that time were brave enough to dream, had distinctive personalities, and were crazy. They could I saw something that others couldn't see, and created it step by step, and then let people follow me. At that time, I saw the prototype of a business.

The first time I tried my hand at starting a business was when I was working at Zhongshi Electronic News. I wrote a project for a children’s website at home.

I asked a former colleague, an engineer, to help me write the code, and then asked my former supervisor to help me connect with a well-known maternal and infant company. However, in the end, the supervisor hired me to hire a professional Internet company to build official portals for leading companies in various industries. .

I was 21 years old at the time, with a monthly salary of 35,000, which was a good start. But one night when I was working overtime until 12 o'clock in the morning, I suddenly asked myself: Apart from these, what else can I do with my abilities?

One day, the music station on TV was recruiting VJs. Without thinking, I ran to participate in the audition competition with a thousand competitors. I thought it was just for fun, but I didn't expect that I would advance all the way to the end.

On the day of the final election, I co-hosted the Andy Lau Fan Club with three competitors, and was lucky enough to be selected by Liu Tianwang. From then on, I started another job, an acting career that had nothing to do with the Internet.

The income from acting work is very unstable. In the first few years, I was not well-known. I had to live without a meal, and I had to borrow money from the bank to survive.

During that time, I saw that Taiwan Chimo launched an online auction function, so I started my second business. I saved some money and flew to Tokyo to wholesale jewelry. I became an e-commerce seller on the Internet and accumulated reviews seriously.

On weekend nights, I went with my cousin to set up a street stall at the entrance of Ding Gua Gua in the East District to understand the voices and opinions of customers. At that time, because I was not popular, no one recognized me, but what bothered me was that the police often came to issue orders, and all the money I earned was used to pay. fine.

The god of luck comes

Without warning, I suddenly took over the hosting role of the "Genius Chong Chong" program, and began to taste the popularity. Various job offers came one after another, and my financial situation improved a lot.

But after I took off my makeup after going home, I continued to do my job. This time I no longer did online auctions or set up street stalls. At that time, the mall model of Qimo Shopping Center was on the rise, and my friends and I co-founded For a women's shoe brand, I put the initial products on the shelves, shoot, retouch, and ship all by myself.

That was my first taste of entrepreneurial success and failure.

At that time, a self-made jelly shoe caused a rush to buy and the supply exceeded demand, which also revealed many of my shortcomings in business management.

I was 28 years old that year, and I found that it was not that easy to start a successful business. Although e-commerce seemed simple, the competition was fierce and it was easy to be eliminated...

There are many things I still don’t understand about product competitiveness, inventory management, return and exchange ratios, etc., let alone business management, financial accounting, and personnel administration.

In the year when I turned 30, when my acting career was about to reach its peak, I decided to resign from the 5 shows I was hosting, including Genius Chong Chong. People around me said I was crazy, and no one knew about me. What are you thinking? I know that even if I say it, no one will think favorably of me...

But anyway, I decided to leave everything behind and go to Japan to study, starting a full-time entrepreneurial journey that took ten years of hard work.
